Lightning head home down 0-2 and on the ropes

by The 100 Companies

After losing an overtime heartbreaker against Colorado to open the Stanley Cup finals, the Lightning disintegrated Saturday in an embarrassing 7-0 loss.

That puts the Avalanche up 2-0, heading into Monday’s game in Tampa.

Captain Steven Stamkos called the effort “totally unacceptable.”

The Bolts also trailed the Rangers 2-0 in the Conference finals but won four games in a row.

This one feels different, though.

Colorado is younger, faster, and more athletic than the Lightning, who are trying to win their third consecutive Cup. The Avalanche buried goalie Andre Vasilevskiy under a barrage of shots, and the Bolts never responded.
