Serving as Florida Speaker of the House tends to breed political or business success. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio once wielded the gavel, after all.
But there’s no word yet on what former House Speaker Chris Sprowls plans to do in his post-leadership future. Some expect he may eventually run for Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney, a job his late mentor, Bernie McCabe, once held. It would be appropriate considering Sprowls’ experience as an assistant state attorney and his work in the legislature to bring a new 2nd District Court of Appeal to St. Pete, to be named after McCabe.
