Winner: USF students. More than 6,400 students received degrees over the weekend after completing their studies at the University of South Florida. The class of 2022 includes 4,843 undergraduates, 1,295 master’s and 297 doctorate degrees.
All 50 states were represented, along with 100 countries. The oldest graduate, who is 68, received a Bachelor’s in Nursing.
Loser: Tampa’s transparency. The city received notice on Dec. 21 that its Crime-Free Housing Program was under a federal investigation for possible civil rights violations.
However, City Council members complained they didn’t find out about that until recently after the Mayor’s office issued a release.
