Congressman Charlie Crist is endorsing Democratic candidate Eunic Ortiz for the Senate District 24 seat. Crist credited Ortiz for her work in local government and advocacy.
“Eunic has a proven track record of advocating for working families, educators and higher wages,” Crist said. “Eunic is hardworking, dedicated to the community I call home.”
SD 24 represents much of Pinellas County. Crist was first elected into office in a similar state Senate seat in 1992.
Ortiz is the only Democrat in the race, facing front-runner Republican Rep. Nick DiCeglie. With Republican Sen. Jeff Brandes leaving from term limits, it’s an open election.
