A heap of prominent Florida Republicans jumped into the race for Florida’s 15th Congressional District this week, making for a crowded and competitive GOP Primary.
The new entrants include former Florida Secretary of State Laurel Lee, state Sen. Kelli Stargel and self-funded veteran and philanthropist Jerry Torres. Stargel and Torres announced their campaigns Monday, and Lee on Tuesday.
The trio enter an already crowded Republican field. Former U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross and state Rep. Jackie Toledo have already filed. Army veteran Jay Collins and Navy veterans Mac McGovern and Demetries Grimes are also competing for the CD15 Republican nomination.
