Blue Sky Communities broke ground on an affordable senior housing project, Bear Creek Commons, scheduled for completion in St. Petersburg in Fall 2024.
The $25 million project includes 85 rental units, with amenities and support services managed by Carteret Management.
The city’s investment totals $6.6 million, with additional funds from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, Pinellas County HFA, Raymond James Affordable Housing Investments, TD Bank and others. The housing will serve seniors with varying area median income (AMI) requirements, addressing the city’s affordable housing crisis.
The initiative represents a significant public-private collaboration, providing quality housing for the city’s vulnerable elderly population.
