Winner: Hurricane relief. Bay area pro sports organizations stepped up with large donations to aid in the recovery from Hurricane Ian.
The Lightning gave $2 million to the effort, while the Bucs gave $1 million through the Glazer family. Quarterback Tom Brady also contributed, but didn’t specify the amount.
Loser: Joy Gendusa. She’s the CEO of PostcardMania, a Clearwater-based marketing company.
The Tampa Bay Times reported she downplayed approaching Hurricane Ian and suggested employees bring pets and their kids to the office so they wouldn’t miss work.
Social media was not kind to that idea. Gendusa backed down and apologized.
