Rays miss out on a chance to host first playoff series

by The 100 Companies

The Rays will be on the road Friday to open playoffs at either Toronto or Cleveland. That became clear after the Rays lost to Houston on Sunday, eliminating any chance for Tampa Bay to host the first round.

The earliest the Rays can play at Tropicana Field will be Game 3 of the A.L. Division Series against the Yankees or Astros if they survive the Wild Card series.

That’s no small deal. The Rays were 51-30 at the Trop this season while they are 35-43 on the road.

The Rays conclude the regular season with three games at Boston.
