Bulls put a scare into the Gators but fall at The Swamp

by The 100 Companies

Despite being a heavy underdog, the USF football team pushed No. 18-ranked Florida to the limit Saturday before falling 31-28 before 88,496 fans at The Swamp.

The Bulls could’ve sent the game into overtime, but missed a 49-yard field goal attempt with 23 seconds left to play.

USF out-gained the Gators in yardage 402-329, led by sophomore running back Brian Battie. He ran for a career-high 150 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Gerry Bohanon added 102 yards and a touchdown.

“It’s a heartbreaker because of how well we played the majority of the game,” Bulls Coach Jeff Scott said.
