Tom Brady is the main attraction for the Buccaneers, but a suffocating defense was the key to Tampa Bay’s 19-3 season-opening victory Sunday night over Dallas.
Linebacker Devin White had two sacks, while Anthony Nelson and Vita Vea had one each. Safety Antoine Winfield, Jr. had an interception while Lavonte David added six tackles, including a tackle for loss.
The Bucs held the Cowboys to 71 yards while limiting quarterback Dak Prescott to 14 completions in 29 attempts.
“I thought the guys did a great job in preparation all week,” head coach Todd Bowles said. “The biggest thing was communication.”
