Three candidates are running in the Republican Primary to replace Nick DiCeglie in the House in the newly drawn HD 59, located in Pinellas County.
The Primary includes former prosecutor Berny Jacques, lawyer Jennifer Wilson and Navy physician Dipak Dinanath Nadkarni. The three Republicans have had a competitive race, reporting high fundraising numbers and powerful endorsements.
DiCeglie has endorsed Wilson as his preferred successor, but Jacques has garnered support from several conservative organizations and Congressman Byron Donalds.
The Republican nominee will go on to face Dawn Douglas in November, but may have better luck in the right-leaning district.
