Winner: Howard Creps. Howard who? Creps is the Land O’Lakes man who won $1 million in a Florida Lottery 500X THE CASH scratch-off game.

He chose to take a lump sum payment of $820,000.

The ticket was purchased at Land O’ Lakes BP on Land O’ Lakes Boulevard.

Loser: Rays ownership unity. The Tampa Bay Times reported that five minority partners in the Rays ownership group sued principal owner Stu Sternberg, alleging he “wrongfully and surreptitiously” transferred team control to his own company without those partners’ knowledge.

It’s the third time that Sternberg has been sued over team ownership issues.
