It will likely be the most expensive Fourth of July holiday on record to fill up at the pump, but that won’t stop people from hitting the road, according to AAA.
That’s right – AAA predicts about 2.6 million Floridians will travel 50 miles or more during the July 4 weekend, making it the second-busiest Independence Day since 2000.
The biggest surprise, AAA said: most people will travel by car. An estimated 2.3 million Florida residents are going on road trips.
AAA warned to avoid traveling June 30 and July 1 if possible. The peak air-travel day is expected to be July 1.
