Former Lightning Coach John Tortorella has a brand new gig. The fiery coach who in 2004 led the Lightning to their first Stanley Cup championship signed to coach the Bolts’ Eastern Conference rival Philadelphia Flyers.
Tortorella vowed a “culture change” for his new team.
“That’s not a criticism,” he said. “But if we want to get to growing and be who we want to be, that organization that people look at as a standard, then yeah, the culture has to change.”
The Flyers finished 25-46-11 this season and missed the Stanley Cup playoffs for the sixth time in 10 seasons.
