Winner: Our taste buds. Nineteen Tampa restaurants received special mention in the first Florida Michelin Guide. Although none received a coveted Michelin star, Ichicoro Ramen and Rooster & the Till in Seminole Heights, and Rocca in Tampa Heights earned Bib Gourmand designation, signifying a great value. The remaining 16 earned Michelin’s “recommendation.”
Loser: University of South Florida. USF lost an appeal to throw out a class-action lawsuit against the school for failing to offer partial tuition refunds to students after canceling in-person classes because of COVID-19. Second District Court of Appeals Judge Darryl Casanueva said the case is able to continue.
