The Lightning open play in the NHL’s Eastern Conference final Wednesday at 8 p.m. against the New York Rangers. A trip to the Stanley Cup finals is on the line.
Tampa Bay has had a nine-day rest since sweeping Florida in the conference semifinals. Goaltender Andre Vasilevskiy was outstanding, allowing only three goals against the NHL’s highest-scoring team.
Brayden Point’s availability remains uncertain. He was injured on May 14 in Game 7 of the Bolts’ opening-round series at Toronto and has not played or practiced since.
Following Game 2 of this series, the Lightning return home on Sunday afternoon.
