Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: Jane Castor. Not that she’s worried about this right now, but the Tampa Mayor had to feel good about a poll showing 58% of voters say they’d give her a second term.

Also, two-thirds of the respondents gave Castor high favorability ratings. Castor’s first term as Mayor ends in 2023.

Loser: Orlando Gudes. Thanks a lot, Mr. Gudes. Tampa taxpayers have to fork over $300,000 to settle the sexual harassment lawsuit against the Tampa City Council member.

An independent investigation ($100,000) found that Gudes created a hostile work environment against a female aide. Gudes remains on the Council.
