Outfielder Manuel Margot has been one of the Rays’ best players this season, but they’ll have to get along without him for a little while. Margot was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday to give his tender right hamstring time to heal.
Margot was named the American League Player of the Week on May 9 and had an 11-game hitting streak. He also leads the Rays with a .348 batting average, including .486 (18-for-37) in May.
He leads the majors with six game-winning RBI.
Right-handed pitcher Ralph Garza Jr. was recalled from Triple-A Durham to fill Margot’s roster spot.
