Clearwater native serves with Navy Maritime Patrol Squadron in Italy

Petty Officer 2nd Class Ramon Buckley, a Clearwater native, is stationed nearly 5,500 miles from home serving in the U.S. Navy at Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sigonella, Italy.

“In high school, I always knew I wanted to join the military,” Buckley said. “After some work in the civilian world, I decided to give the military a second look.” 

Buckley joined the Navy four years ago. Today, Buckley serves with Patrol Squadron (VP) 1, working with the Navy’s legacy maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft. Growing up in Clearwater, Buckley was a student at Seminole High School and graduated in 2008.
