The SEC men’s basketball tournament tips off Wednesday at Amalie Arena in Tampa.
The No. 9-seeded Florida Gators don’t play until Thursday at noon against No. 8 seed Texas A&M. The winner meets top-seeded Auburn on Friday at noon.
Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas round out the top four seeded teams.
While projections call for up to six SEC teams to earn automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament no matter what happens this week, the Gators likely need to win the tournament to qualify for March Madness.
They have not done that since the 2013-14 season.
