Local educator Keesha Benson has announced her candidacy for the at-large District 3 seat on the Pinellas County School Board.
Benson holds a doctorate in Social Work and is a sixth-generation Pinellas County resident. An advocate for public education, Benson works as an educator, and has three children within the Pinellas County School system.
“My life experience has led me to run for school board,” she said. “I have a deep understanding of inequities in our community and the long-term consequences for our most vulnerable populations. When the mental, physical and socioemotional needs of the individual are met, they thrive.”
