Bucs Byron Leftwich removes name from consideration for Jaguars job

by The 100 Companies

Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich was thought to be the favorite to become Jacksonville’s next head coach. However, on Thursday Leftwich dropped out of the running, reportedly because the team wouldn’t go along with his request to hire Adrian Wilson as the team’s general manager instead of current GM& Trent Baalke.

Jacksonville then hired former Philadelphia Eagles Coach Doug Pederson. He had three playoff appearances in four years there, including a win in Super Bowl LII.

The New Orleans Saints were given permission to interview Leftwich for their vacant head-coaching position.
