St. Petersburg Mayor-elect Ken Welch has announced the agenda for his historic inauguration on Jan. 6, where he will be sworn in as the city’s first Black Mayor.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on the steps of City Hall at noon, with the five newly elected and re-elected City Council members to be sworn-in inside City Hall Council Chambers just before.
After the mayoral inauguration, the marching band from Lakewood High School, Welch’s alma mater, will lead the new Mayor and Council members from City Hall to Williams Park for a community celebration and a meet-and-greet with the officials.
