USF women’s soccer advances to conference final

by The 100 Companies

The University of South Florida women’s soccer team advanced to the American Athletic Conference championship game after a 2-0 win over No. 17 ranked SMU Thursday.

Sydny Nasello of Land O’ Lakes and Lucy Roberts scored USF’s goals. The victory avenged a 2-0 loss USF suffered to the Dallas-based Mustangs earlier this season.

The Bulls, ranked No. 23 nationally, will face Memphis at noon on Sunday at Corbett Stadium. The winner gets an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament.

USF defeated the Tigers 1-0 in double overtime on Oct. 17 at Memphis.

The game will be carried on ESPN News.
