Lisset Hanewicz succeeds Darden Rice for St. Pete City Council District 4 seat

by The 100 Companies

Former prosecutor Lisset Hanewicz will succeed Darden Rice on the St. Petersburg City Council after winning election to the District 4 seat Tuesday night.

Hanewicz collected 54% of the vote, making her victorious against opponent Tom Mullins, who garnered 46% of the vote, according to early results from the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office with all precincts reporting.

She will become the first Latina on the St. Pete City Council.

Her win follows a tough campaign against Mullins, a Raymond James executive who’s campaign had deep pockets — the race saw the largest funding outside of the city’s mayoral election.
