Endorsements are often overlooked in local races, but Tom Mullins, a candidate for St. Pete City Council in District 4, received an important one in late August.
Jarib Figueredo, the fourth place finisher in the August Primary against Mullins, offered his nod, putting into play the 850 votes cast for Figueredo, and potentially more from voters outside the District.
But Mullins still faces challenges in the race. His opponent, Lisset Hanewicz, has support from the majority of the existing Council. Still, Figueredo is a local business executive and tech entrepreneur who could help shore up support from the business community.
