USF to build on-campus football stadium

by The 100 Companies

As supporters gathered Wednesday for the University of South Florida’s groundbreaking on a $22-million indoor football practice facility, trustee Chair Will Weatherford dropped a bombshell.

USF will build an on-campus football stadium. “I’m here to tell you we are going to do it,” Weatherford said.

Weatherford didn’t reveal the exact location on campus or stadium cost, but promised, “You’re going to see some rollout of details, an articulation of what this dream can look like. We’re just not sharing it yet. But stay tuned.”

The Bulls have played at Raymond James Stadium, 12 miles from campus, since its inception in 1997.
