WFLA will host first debate for St. Pete mayoral runoff

WFLA will host the first runoff debate between mayoral candidates Robert Blackmon and Ken Welch on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

The pair — a former City Council member and a former County Commissioner — will face off in the non-partisan General Election on Nov. 2 after advancing in the August Primaries as the top two vote-getters.

The debate will be live-streamed on WFLA NOW and will be hosted by the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce at the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg campus. Evan Donovan, News Channel 8 political reporter and host of Battleground Florida, will moderate the debate starting at 5:30 p.m.
