Wander Franco gets noticed as MLB’s youngest player

Wander Franco’s promotion to the Rays has all of baseball paying attention. The rookie shortstop from the Dominican is the game’s No. 1-ranked prospect.

Position players are rated in five areas: hitting, running, fielding, power and arm. Scores range from 20-80. On MLB.com, Franco scored 80 in hitting, 60 in power, and no less than 50 in any other category.

The website noted, “Franco has the physical tools and natural ability needed to become the top switch-hitter of his generation.”

Besides shortstop, Franco also can play second or third base.

At 20 years old, Franco is MLB’s youngest player.
