Century-old church sells in St. Pete

by The 100 Companies

A local developer has secured a 100-year-old historic church in St. Pete’s Old Northeast neighborhood.

Paying $1.475 million, Smith and Associates Real Estate bought Westminster Presbyterian Church after it received historic landmark designation in 2020, which prohibits demolition but allows for adaptive reuse.

The church, located at 126 11th Ave. NE, ended its ministry at the property four years ago, according to Smith and Associates. The church was originally built in the 1920s, and first started holding services in 1926.

The buyer does not have immediate plans for the property, the firm told the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
